Women are powerful. And when we get together, we are even stronger.
Something you can always see in a crowd of women, is women lifting each other up. Supporting each other, collaborating, sharing advice and information. This is a beautiful sight to behold.
When I started Saywood, it was always going to be about more than clothes. It is about community. Because together we are stronger. We have a fight on hands for a better fashion future, a more equal future, a fairer future. A future that respects and nurtures our planet. And women will be a force to be reckoned with in making this happen. Because this is already in our hearts.
So I am really excited to announce the first ever Saywood community event celebrating amazing, inspirational, powerful women. YOU.
On Wednesday 18th September I am hosting the first ever Saywood Swap Shop.
Saywood Swap Shop is a networking event in London for women to meet likeminded women in business and slow fashion lovers, to connect with each other and build on our support networks.
It takes the ick out of networking too. How? Here's the fashion twist, or the Sustainable Fashion Month twist I should say. We don't swap business cards. We swap clothes.
You will use the Swap Rail to not only discover a beautiful new treat for yourself, but also to meet another inspirational women to spark conversation with.
Here's where the hook up comes in. Your clothes for swapping will be tag with your name and a story about that piece, giving you all a conversation starter that doesn't start with 'so what do you do then?' Swapping pieces from our wardrobes that no longer serve us, and giving them a new lease of life with another amazing woman.
Meaningful conversation starters through the mutual love of our wardrobes = inspiring connections for life.
Throughout the evening you'll receive useful styling advice and tips, share wardrobe stories, network and enjoy the company and inspiring stories or women just like you.
I really believe your clothes give you a superpower when you dress with confidence. Knowing who you are, what your style is and what makes you feel good gives you a confidence each time you get dressed, so that you feel empowered in your everyday life and work! And when you get a compliment on your outfit... well, that makes you smile from ear to ear. And how good does that feel?!
Our wardrobes hold more than just our clothes. They are our super suits that tell the world we are ready for anything. They are part of our daily ritual; getting dressed, a ritual that sets us up for the day.
And at the Saywood Swap Shop we will be celebrating our superpowers and all of you!
You will leave feeling inspired and empowered through an amazing group of women and in your everyday wardrobe, ready to take on that big meeting the next day, and with plenty of new inspirational connections for life. Women supporting women.

What Should You Bring To The Event?
- 2-3 items to swap - Something from your wardrobe you no longer wear, or have fallen out of love with. Remember, these should be in good condition.
- A favourite piece or two from your wardrobe that you wear often. Or wear this to the evening so you feel great! This will help you find a treat on the Swap rail you know you'll wear often.
Your ticket includes a drink on arrival, plus, when you attend this event, you will receive a free half day trial pass to The Hearth, our gorgeous venue. You'll also have the chance to discover some of Saywood's beautiful wardrobe foundations at the event.
About The Venue
The Hearth is a women's space in Queen's Park, North London, where women can find room for themselves to live, work and feel better. The community of diverse women enjoy full co-working facilities, wellness treatments, a relaxing evening lounge and thoughtfully curated events. The perfect setting for our event!
