Sustainable London Restaurants For Delicious Dining
Share
There’s nothing better than a delicious, experiential dinner out in good company in the setting of a beautiful restaurant. But when that restaurant is sourcing food sustainably, being conscious of their waste, and providing an incredibly stunning, environmentally friendly environment to enjoy your meal in, that takes it to a whole other level.
London does not leave us short of restaurants to enjoy, but here are five of our favourite sustainable restaurants in London, for their mouth watering dishes, who are creating a dining experience that is, by far, better for You and better for our Planet.

Rabbit, Chelsea
Situated on the King's Road in Chelsea Rabbit British Bistro is a stunning farm-to-fork restaurant, creating modern British cuisine from locally sourced wild and foraged ingredients. Committed to sustainability with a low waste ethos, Rabbit’s dining room offers an experience rooted in nature, crafted from woody interiors and coupled with the food bringing the British countryside to the heart of the Kings Road.

Their delicious dishes not only look beautiful, but bring deliciously rich flavours, often with foraged vegetables and wild game given a charcoal flavouring from their Robata grill. From seasonal dishes, to their West Sussex sustainably reared roasts, some from their very own Gladwin family’s farm, with delicious wines from their Nutbourne vineyard, Rabbit is a must visit for a mouthwatering homegrown feast, with a relaxed yet lively atmosphere.

Apricity, Mayfair
Michelin Green Star restaurant Apricity, in the heart of Mayfair, serves up not only spectacular and sustainable foods dreamed up by conscious chef and founder Chantelle Nicholson, but embraces an environment that speaks of harmony with nature too. With their sustainable interiors designed by David Chenery, Apricity’s zero waste desire and sustainable ethos is woven throughout every inch of their restaurant, displaying circular design with circular dining. Every aspect of the restaurant’s design can be removed, to be reused and upcycled, with a determination that nothing goes to waste; from the use of natural lime plaster on the walls, to the reclaimed treads and boards repurposed from their original staircase, whilst the hanging lights in the restaurant are made from cut oyster shells with the chefs table lamp shades made from recycled coffee grounds.

Their gardens grow their own organic, fresh off-the-vine foods, so flavours run deep, and the space provides an incredible sensory experience for socialising diners. The edible garden space has been crafted from reclaimed and upcycled materials, giving vibrant colour through the plants, fruits and vegetables, as well as farm to table experience, with as much of the produce used in their dish ingredients as possible, embedding their low waste ethos. Perilla, Newington Green
Known for their daily changing in-season menus and service-included ethos, Perilla sits in the beautiful neighbourhood of Newington Green. With their own signature sourdough bread and beautifully displayed dishes boasting colours of the seasons from fresh seasonal produce, Perilla is a dining experience of European flavours with people at the heart; from the customers and their community, to their staff. Perilla is a relaxed casual restaurant where you can enjoy good food, good company and leave with a happy soul. Their restaurant is filled with light in a beautifully calm environment, and the kindliness of the staff goes a long way.

Perilla has a service included approach, meaning that they have already priced the cost of service into their dishes, so staff get paid a full fair wage, knowing their salaries at the end of every month. Any additional tips are distributed directly to the staff, meaning that the traditional tronc system taken from ‘service charge’, so often used to top up wages, is not in play here, which is better for the staff, who get paid fairly, and for the customer; service with a smile because the team are genuinely smiling. Their hearty wine menu is also full of in season wines, and the team are always happy to help suggest a good pairing option.
