Hand cut from a beautiful slubby deadstock cotton, our Amelia culotte trousers are a contemporary take on heritage checks. Tailored but fluid, they're crafted for a superior fit, sitting just below the belly button, before fanning out into an easy A-line silhouette to just above the ankle. Finished with our signature embroidered flower on the back pocket and a triangle cut-out detailing.

Cut from surplus cotton in classic navy check, the Amelia is a keep-forever pair of culotte trousers that bring timeless style to your everyday. A check trouser essential in sustainable deadstock fabric crafted with care to bring you beautiful heritage design.

Tailored but fluid, they’re crafted for a superior fit, sitting just below the belly button, before fanning out into an easy A-line silhouette to just above the ankle. Clever details make them super-flattering on the body: the darts at the front and back which shapes without restricting the hips, bottom and waist; the relaxed crotch which has plenty of give when sitting; the smart pressed front creases. Slanted side pockets keep things streamlined – and practical, too, with their roomy pocket bags.

Finished with a discreet corozo button and zip-fly fastening, back patch pockets, navy topstitching and our trademark embroidered flower, they’re for all seasons.

Clothing Clare | Wash less, love always

We recommend hanging your trousers to air outdoors, rather than washing after every wear. This way, they will last longer and also have a lower environmental impact. Spot clean marks with warm soapy water, and when it does need a wash, follow our care advice:

- Machine wash 30 degrees
- Wash with similar colours
- Medium iron
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry

A note on our deadstock cotton and corozo buttons

Our Amelia culotte trousers use deadstock cotton sourced from the Riopele mill in Portugal, which is certified STeP by OEKO-TEX® for sustainable production. They’re made in Romania by Mantra, one of the few manufacturers we work with abroad for its lower environmental impact and repurposing textile waste.

We’ve used corozo – known as vegetable ivory – for the button on the zipper, as it comes from a nut found in South America which can only be harvested once it naturally falls to the ground, making it a more sustainable choice. It’s also biodegradable. The zipper is nickel free and the tape made from recycled polyester.
