A light throw-over with plenty of warmth, the Cecilia Cardigan has a neat, softly shrunken silhouette with gentle ease through the body. Rich in colour, the rust shade has beautiful depth and texture, created by the Shetland-style spinning used at the heritage mill in Aberdeenshire, where the soft lambswool and cashmere blend is spun. Its saddle shoulder gives the shape a clean line, while the pink contrast trim at the neckline adds a subtle note of colour.

The Cecilia balances modern proportions with the soft handfeel of its jersey-stitch body. Twin rows of garter stitch at the hem add definition to the clean silhouette. Buttoned up or worn open, this colourful neutral works hard for you throughout the seasons. Style it with your Marie Blouse, letting the frill cuff peek out beneath the cardigan sleeve.

Knitted in London and hand-finished, the Cecilia features natural corozo nut buttons made by Courtney & Co in the Cotswolds, dyed to match the pink trim and etched with the Saywood flower. The Cecilia is defined by the balance between its neat, softly shrunken silhouette and gentle ease through the body. Clothing Care | Wash less, love always

As a humble natural fibre, wool and cashmere are prone to pilling, but it is easily removed with a gentle comb. Once it has pilled, good quality fibres won’t pill again, and only minutely. We recommend storing in an airtight bag when not in regular use to protect against moths.

Wool and cashemere are naturally odour-resistant and shouldn’t need to be washed more than once a season when aired regularly. Spot clean marks by lightly brushing, or with a gentle wool/ cashmere detergent, and when it does need a wash, follow our care advice:

- Cold handwash or dry clean only
- Low iron
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry
- Use gentle wool detergent only
- Reshape whilst damp
- Dry flat away from direct sunlight and heat

Our Cecilia Cardigan is crafted from 87.5% supersoft lambswool and 12.5% cashmere, both chosen for their exceptional quality. The yarn is spun in Aberdeenshire at JC Rennie, a family-run heritage mill that has been perfecting its craft since 1798. Using traditional machines more than 50 years old, the mill ring-spins the yarn to create its heathered tones, a natural colour variance that gives each piece depth, character and nuance.

JC Rennie works with small, family-run farms in New Zealand and Australia for the lambswool, while the cashmere is sourced from Mongolia. As lambswool is a seasonal fibre, its provenance varies between the two countries in line with the natural farming cycle.

Wool and cashmere are amongst nature’s cleverest fibres: renewable, biodegradable and naturally breathable. They are both thermoregulating, keeping your body at just the right temperature, and odour-resistant too, meaning your cardigan needs less frequent washing. Less washing means less water, kinder to the planet and to your knitwear.

Each Cecilia Cardigan is expertly knitted in London by Knitster, just a stone’s throw from Saywood HQ, a small, female-founded factory with just five knitting machines.
