Top stitching offers a defined finish, with pink tab detailing at the patch pocket corners. Subtle side splits at the hem and the box pleat at the back neck yoke gives the silhouette a further feminine touch, with a soft A-line flare. Inside, the back neck is lined with a soft fine cotton poplin liner for comfort, whilst the inside of the hem is finish with a berry red and white stripe binding, adding an unexpected touch of detail. Finished with natural ivory corozo buttons; natural down to the trimmings.

Shirt is a boxy fit to drape off the body, finishing below the trouser line for coverage.

Clothing Care | Wash less, love always

We recommend hanging your shirt to air outdoors, rather than washing after every wear. This way, it will last longer and also have a lower environmental impact. Spot clean marks with warm soapy water, and when it does need a wash, follow our care advice:

- Machine wash 30 degrees
- Wash with similar colours
- Medium iron
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry

A note on our organic cotton and corozo buttons

Our Lela Shirt is cut from a beautifully luxe GOTs certified organic cotton corduroy from Italian mill Duca Visconti, based just outside Milan. Duca Visconti have been masters of corduroy since 1838, and still hand-cut the cord for a beautifully luxe finish; one of the only mills still using this traditional hand finishing technique. Trimmed in contrast with a wider pink cotton corduroy that was repurposed from surplus cloth from a Czech factory. Handmade in the UK, in North East London at luxury manufacturer MAES, just down the road from the Saywood studio, keeping our carbon footprint minimal.

Our cloth is also certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, which means it’s completely free from chemicals harmful to your skin. We’ve used corozo – known as vegetable ivory – for the button on the zipper, as it comes from a nut found in South America which can only be harvested once it naturally falls to the ground, making it a more sustainable choice. It’s also biodegradable.
