Clothing Care | Wash less, love always

We recommend hanging your shirtdress to air outdoors, rather than washing after every wear. This way, it will last longer and also have a lower environmental impact. Spot clean marks with warm soapy water, and when it does need a wash, follow our care advice:

- Machine wash 30 degrees
- Wash with similar colours
- Medium iron
- Do not bleach
- Do not tumble dry

Wash separately to other colours for the first few washes, due the the nature of the dye.

A note on our Japanese denim and Codelite® buttons

Our Rosa Japanese denim shirtdress is crafted from premium Japanese cotton that’s been woven with three textured yarns of different weights for a unique finish, by artisans using traditional techniques in Ibara, Japan. Dyed in rich black, we’ve washed it down further to give it a soft appeal whilst maintaining its deep black tone. Our cotton is also certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, which means it’s completely free from chemicals harmful to your skin. Handmade in the UK, in North East London at MAES, makers of expert craftsmanship just down the road from the Saywood studio, keeping our carbon footprint minimal.

For our buttons, we’ve used Codelite®, as it’s a natural material made from casein, a protein derived from milk. Codelite® is also biodegradable, which means your dress’ impact on the environment once it reaches the end of its lifecycle will be reduced further.
