Finished with the unexpected details you'd expect from Saywood: self-fabric denim tabs, subtle top stitching, and our woven label. Turn it inside out and you have an entirely different hat.

Cut from surplus shirt production fabric, because beautiful things shouldn't go to waste. Woven by heritage artisans in Ibara, Okayama, using traditional shuttle looms and dyed with natural indigo, this is Japanese denim with provenance. Handmade in London, designed to be worn season after season.

Crafted from premium Japanese denim that's been woven by artisans, at a small craft enterprise, using traditional techniques in Ibara, Okayama, Japan - the 'birthplace of denim'. Dyed using natural indigo, our cotton is also certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, which means it’s completely free from chemicals harmful to your skin.

It's not just the cloth we consider, but the trimmings too. The elastane is made form organic cotton and plant-based rubber, so of your scrunchie ever meets the earth, it will biodegrade considerately to the planet.
